Verizon and NEC Corporation…demonstrate intelligent fiber optic sensing over OFCnet at OFC 2023….Fiber optic sensing one of the live demos selected to be highlighted at OFC 2023. In recent years, Verizon and NEC have collaboratively published several technical papers and conducted workshops on utilizing distributed fiber optic sensing technologies across telecom networks. The advantages of the intelligent fiber optic sensing technology comprises boosting the efficiency of telecom network operations and gathering physical environmental data through the current telecom fiber optic network infrastructure….real-world use cases, including traffic monitoring via NEC’s SpectralWave LS3200 Distributed Acoustic Sensor (DAS) interrogator and Intelligent Fiber Optic Sensing (IFOS) product suite.
